Multi Tools

I love giving multiitools as gifts because they are super practical, while still coming in all sorts of unique forms. I find myself giving them to the people that I have the hardest time buying gifts for, the people who want practical things but have few interests, and like, do I give them another Barnes & Noble gift certificate? Come on.

Clockwise from top left.
Evowood Swiss Army Knife: The iconic Swiss Army Knife takes on a new look and feel with the remnants of top-quality walnut wood that would otherwise go to waste. The use of the sustainable wood makes each one unique. $80-$160

Kaufmann Mercantile EDC Kit: This keyring comes with four components, including precision tweezers, a pry bar, screwdriver keys in both flat-head and Phillips-head, and the best part: a 1" capsule lighter. The capsule lighter is water and air-tight, and stands up on its own as to be used as a hands-free heat or light source. This is like the super-spy multi-tool. $42

Leatherman Wave Black Oxide Multi-tool: The Leatherman is perhaps the most iconic multi-tool, and the black oxide finish makes this model the most useful and best looking of the bunch. $62

MOMA Multi Tool: This model from the Museum of Modern Art is one of the more affordable and fun choices, with the awesome feature of a 12-bit screwdriver set concealed in the bright blue hammer. $25

iSlice Ceramic Blade Cutter: Okay, this tool actually only has one use, thus it doesn't qualify as a multi-tool but COME ON, look how cool and useful it is! Traditional box cutters are unsafe, clunky, and a pain to use, but I could cut the shit out of some stuff with this without shedding nary a drop of blood. $20
